Francisco J. Samaniego received his
Ph.D. in
Mathematics from UCLA in 1971. He joined the UC Davis faculty in 1972,
following an NSF-sponsored postdoctoral year in the Department of
Statistics at
the
Dr. Samaniego is an elected Fellow of
the American
Statistical Association, the Royal Statistical Society and the
