Welcome to Statistics

Statistics is a dynamic discipline whose primary aim is to develop and study methodologies for the analysis of noisy data by means of empirical, theoretical and computational tools. The department provides a broad education covering all these aspects of the field. It also contributes to methodological, mathematical and computational knowledge in statistics via research that finds application in the biological sciences, business, engineering, finance, genetics, (human and veterinary) medicine, sociology, and many other areas.
