POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW POSITION IN STATISTICS

Postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Statistics, University of California, Davis with an initial appointment of 2 years and a negotiable start date. The position is open to US citizens, permanent residents and nationals. The applicant should be a recent Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics, or should expect to finish such a degree in 2013/14. We are seeking candidates showing clear promise for being capable of developing cutting edge statistical / computational methodology pertaining to modern areas of statistics involving large and complex data, including, but not limited to, medical imaging, visualization, graphical models, statistical network analysis, functional data analysis, manifold learning or statistical computing.

Position is funded through an NSF Research Training Group (RTG). The postdoctoral fellow is expected to be an active member of the RTG, which consists of a dynamic group of Statistics faculty and collaborators from Neuroscience, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Cosmology and Entomology. RTG activities include teaching and training/mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students. FACULTY POSITION IN STATISTICS

The Department of Statistics at UC Davis invites applications for multiple tenure-track Assistant Professor, tenured Associate and Full Professor positions from qualified individuals with a Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field. Applicants are expected to have active research interests in statistical methods that are related to large and complex or massive data sets. Special consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated interests in machine learning, geometrical and nonlinear methods in statistics, including the analysis of spatio-temporal, functional-longitudinal, shapes, networks and other object data, deep/innovative scientific applications in various fields such as biological sciences and imaging, and big data-computing intensive methods. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to providing service to the department, university and statistics community. An outstanding record of research, professional activity and teaching are required for appointment with tenure, and demonstrated interest and the ability to achieve such a record are required for a tenure-track appointment. The position will begin 07/01/2015.
