Guidelines for Mini-Projects:
Make sure you identify which problem you are doing when you hand it
in!
These projects are designed to give you practice
with carrying out and explaining the concepts presented in the course.
They are also the reason the course receives credit for the General Education
writing experience. Therefore, these projects will be graded for clarity
of writing as well as for statistical content.
Instructions:
-
Each project should be typed or written neatly and should be about two
pages, not including attached data, news or journal articles.
-
If you collect data as part of the project, make sure you include
the data as part of your report.
-
If you report on a journal article or news story, make sure
you include a copy with your project.
Sources of help:
There are good sources of news articles on the Internet.
Visit the
Links
to Resources on the class webpage for the course to find some of them.
Many journals are also available on the Internet. Visit the
Electronic
Journals home page through the UCD Library. (Note that some links only
work if you are logged on through a UCD system.) You can also access this
from MyUCDavis.
